I’ve been searching around the net and found out that HDB flats in Singapore have locked rooms and landlord living-in (sometimes) due to some rule. Do landlords really stay (or go in without notice) in the HDB flat even if you’ve rented out the whole unit?
ANSWER: Generally HDB will not allow owners to rent the entire unit, but HDB do grant permissions to owners that apply to rent the entire unit such as entire family working oversea… Many owners wanting to rent the unit just lock a room to show to the HDB inspectorate that they are staying in that room, so they are not violating the rules)
